Subject: Village meetings
Was that a good turn out of 40 people at the first village
meeting ? Section 1 has 142 lots, Section 1a has 6 lots and
section 8 310 lots, A total of 458 lots plus 33 lots owned by
LHLLC was that a good turn out ? Not in my book as the old saying
goes. How many of those 458 lots have houses and how many of those
houses are full time residents that could even try to make a week
night meeting? As a lot ower I would have made it to the Feb 15
meeting but had a death in the family and I see no other meetings
I can go too that are not during the week. How many houses have
full time residents and that are not renters?

Subject: New Documents
What would happen if one or more sections (villages) do not
approve the revised governing documents? How much involvement
does LHLLC has do with the changing the documents?
How much has LHLLC spent on helping to change the documents? I
first I had not recieved any new documents, so I e-mail the
office, To my surprise in af ew days I recieve my copy of the new
documents not from Lake Hoilday but from Miller/ Smith(LHLLC) Who
really wants the documents changed is it 97% of each section or
is it really Miller/Smitth?

Subject: lot owners
We have here at Lake Holiday 1709 private lots at which there is
only about 600 homes. Out of those 600 homes about 480 are full
time residents and the rest are part time weekend and summer
residents. That means the board does not care about those 1229
residents the do not live at Lake Holiday full time or just have
a lot. All of the meetings but a few town hall meetings are
during the week There has been no word about a village meetings
on the weekend. The board says get involved when we complain, but
how can we if all the meetings are during the week.

As a point of clarification, the lake holiday web site is
maintained by volunteers, not paid webmasters. There are 3 of us.
Sometimes it takes a couple of hours just fiddling with scanning
in a paid business ad just to get the image so that it will
display well enough. There are always a lot of changes to be
posted as documents get updated, news notifications, etc. I am
one of the volunteers and have often spent an entire morning or
afternoon with what a reader might consider to be minor updates.
Actually the results of the recent survey about the web site
showed a high percentage of positives and satisfaction with the
information, quality of presentation, and currency. In case no
one has noticed, the printed newsletter has also taken on a
completely new look. If you are interested in helping with
either, volunteer. ...WJN

Subject: Clubhouse
I seem to recall a 5-year plan around 2000 for the clubhouse
which put on a new roof and siding. It was apparently dropped for
some grand plan which would completely renovate the building. Now
that's too expensive so there's talk of tearing it down and
starting over. Why is it always one step forward and two steps
back with this building? Why can't we just put in the basics and
get it open?

Why is management permiting buldoziers to drive on our
already deterated roads? Who is watching the store?

Subject: Developer Signs
It doesn't seem at all fair that the developer can advertise and
a homeowner cannot. Do these advertisements mean that anyone who
wants to purchase here will be let through the gate with a
developers map of available lots unescorted? It sounds like we
are giving away far to much, just to have the luxury of being
another overcrowded community.

Subject: Lake nonholiday
My Family and moved here from a lake community in
Maryland 6 months ago. The main reason was because this lake can
use gas motor boats. What a mistake!!!! The fees are outragous
and we cant trust the water supply. On top of that, you have to
pay water bills on a lot that is not build yet, robbery!! This
place has so much potential, but needs to be governed better. We
are out of here!!

Subject: boat privileges
Boat permits should be grandfathered to specific
lots, not owners. Try to sell a lakeside lot with a inplace dock
which is denied boat privileges while other boats are gleefully
zipping around the lake.

Subject: Chip Seal
The complaints about the road chip seal are
unfounded. If it weren't for the chip seal our roads would be
much worse off, especially after one of the coldest winters in a
long time. Also let's not be so negative and I think that the
winter road repair this year has been much better, faster and
thurough than last year. There are noted improvements going on
here in The Summit. I for one think we are at least headed in the
right direction. We can't have it all immediately and kudos need
to go out when deserved.

I see the money was well spent for the chip seal.
Our roads are worse this spring than in the past. Keep praising
projects like this and I'm sure we'll see other ways our money
can be wasted. Tim Spittler

Subject: stickers and lots
Well, I guess someone reads your forum area...I
noticed today that the office will be open this Saturday 9-12.
Guess I'll gather my stuff up and try to get stickers again.
But, do you know what happened to the money "we"
got for all of the lots sold to those wonderful and charitable
developers? I thought the Summit (whatever the correct name
of the various mish-mash of corporations is) sold 400 (500, 600,
700...whatever) lots to a developer (land speculator)...what
happened toh the money? thanks
LHCC didn't own those lots, they belonged to a
trust that was purchased by the developer. The Feb 2004 Summit
News has details...Ed.

Subject: car stickers
Well, I finally gathered
up most of the vehicle registrations to get new stickers (theyre
all the same cars as last year, but I guess we cant be
trusted to tell the truth). Went to the office to get new
stickers and to my surprise, theyre closed. Yes, its
Saturday. I guess the office thinks its more
convenient for the residents to be closed on Saturdays and open
only Monday Friday. I wonder how they think we can
afford to pay the increased fees and special assessments without
working ironically, the same hours they are open. I guess
being convenient for the employees is more important than being
convenient for the residents.
I guess theyll just stop me at the gate every day once the current stickers expire. Oh well, they bought the gate passes with our special assessment money and now they want to sell them to us for $25 each what happened to $17? That was bad enough since we already paid for them the first time.

Subject: Your web site
Pretty well constructed. Too bad this
energy isn't put to use on the Summit Newsletter. Perhaps
the environment has changed enough to consider? The web
site may need a new site admin as well.
Thank You. An independent site assures us free press. We will
assess the progress of the Summit Newsletter and website under
new direction and perhaps participate at a later date. - Ed.

Subject: note $200 assessment for roads.
The site looks great!
I think it is time to address some money issues. It is
unreasonable to have a $200. assessment for the roads. It's
time to sell some of the lots that this community owns.
What are they waiting for? To much $ being spent on
management and the rest.
Thanks. In hindsight the $200.
assessment probably could have been mitigated by frugal spending.
Lots are a finite asset and once sold are gone forever. If sold
they should be sold over time so as to diversify value.
Unfortunately, the assessment may be the best option. -Ed.
