new utility company

I am hearing of how we got rid of the problem we had with the utility company we owned and operated. Well I am hear to tell you I know where the problem got dumped---right in my lap. I received my first bill in Feb and never saw another one. I called them in March and in April asking where is bill. In May I got in touch with the office they told me they would tell me I was disconnected and low and behold they did, When I ask why, or how that happened. They had no idea and whats more the fact Iwas telling them that a lot of people must have the same problem if office is telling me what they would say. They said we will fix it. I called again in June asking for a bill. They said had just issued a bill for almost $500.00. I told them they would get the past in the same time frame it took them to get me a bill. The next bill included a $6.50 over charge--I paid it what the heck. The next month I got an estimated bill charging me an additional $25.00 on top of the very expensive $75.00 regular bill. I called and ask why would you charge me so much on an estimate when you have no figures to prove feasabilty. They said computer set fee. I did not pay it!!!!! They had just put a second meter at my house this one the type to be read by pointing a hand held device at meter and you send me an estimated inflated bill. The HOA has no more utility woes but I sure got the shaft. And now you talk of how much I will be charged to fix the dam. And this discussion comes up after all that was spent on the club house we can not afford to keep open. Drain the lake for all I care and when we can afford the dam repairs fill it back up. I can not afford to spend thousands of dollars to provide water in a hole. I am hard pressed to pay for the follies of the board of directors and what this in house bickereing it cost me now. Of course I must be the only person in here that has to watch their pennies. Between property taxes, HOA dues and water I am paying almost $300 more a month then I did when I bought house 4 yrs ago. And now you talk pay for dam----not me.

Betty Ann Spear? You are priceless. You have the nerve to complain about the new utility company and this screwed up HOA. WHen others brought these similar problems up, you were writing long winded rants about how incredible the Board was for this community. Fast forward to Oct 08...You now have problems dealing with the HOA and Utility? Suffer along with the rest of the community because nobody is listening to you.

Betty Ann Spear, I have watched you make endless posting suggesting that Masters and others were out of line in their postings. You have been a stringent supporter of the board apparently never taking the time to look at the many facts available. You have not stood alone, there are 100 or so home owners who have add the same attitude as yourself. Some like you will wake up, others will never get it.
If you want change it starts with people waking up. M&S will vote again this year and unless everyone voting for Masters votes and no one else, M&S will carry the vote putting in place only those who support them and the board.

Description

Aqua America is the second largest publicly traded water and wastewater corporation based in the United States. It has pushed its way to the top through a strategy of aggressive acquisitions and drastic rate increases. Aiming to make several dozen acquisitions a year, the company targets smaller systems to avoid a citizenry armed with resources to fight the takeover. And it pursues systems in states that have fast growing populations, corporate friendly regulatory environments and considerable investment needs. Of course, all of this is done with an eye toward its bottom line. Aqua America is failing to protect the public interest. Instead of private control of their water systems, communities need — and overwhelmingly support — a national trust fund for clean and safe water. Federal support for public utilities will do what Aqua America has not done: A trust fund will help ensure families across the country have access to clean, safe and affordable water.

Look out all you suckers at Lake Holiday, Aqua has been knocking on doors in Richmond to raise your already over priced water bill. Those who thought the sale of our utility company was a great idea will now see if the board cronies are going to bat to keep the current rate.

Being a past boardmember I'm here to tell you that what's the point of being a board member if you can't enrich the lives of a few close friends and family members at the expense of a bunch of clueless dupes like we have here at Lake Holiday? Hey you guys helped us get rid of Carl Simms and you thought that was great now we are here to show you how real shady characters operate.

For those of you who think your water bills are outrageous, take a look at Lake Holiday's home page to see the rate increase proposal put forth by Aqua. It will increase your water bill by somewhere between 70 and 90 percent, depending on usage. It will take effect in Jan unless there is a huge protest by their customers. Write the SCC at the address on the letter.

THIS APPLIES TO THE DAM ISSUE AS WELL. NOT ONE ON THE BOARD HAS EVER HAD THE POWER OR HANDLED THE MILLIONS THAT WILL BE SPENT FOR THE DAM.
