First Town Hall Meeting

The 01/05/2004 7PM meeting opened with brief update by the LHCC Board President: The board has enlisted services of a real estate attorney who is familiar with private communities. He will serve as a primary interface with LHLLC. The lots in trade for clubhouse issue is on hold for reevaluation, as are other commitments. The Board is undertaking a review of current rules, and resolutions passed under previous administrations. The E-1 grinder pump policy is also under review. The clubhouse plan is complete and ready for bids – plans were available for public review. The County Sanitary Authority was contacted, and may be interested in managing our utilities.

Three minute presentations by residents followed. A catch-neuter-and-release proposal for the barn's feral cat population was presented. Comments were made on increasing association fees and the eventual inability of some to pay. Road improvement and damage caused by contractors and sewer line installation was discussed, the issues being addresses by the Road Committee. Yeider's run overflow and blockage of the culverts was noted. Questions as what to do about neighbor's trees which are about to fall on one's property were dismissed as an issue between neighbors. Roving patrol viability and absence of County Police patrols was questioned.

A unofficial straw poll on several issues indicated: proceed with clubhouse - yes, install new siding on the Summit Center - yes, mow golf course at our expense - no, tear down the barn - yes. Approximately 40 residents attended.
